After studying at the Universities of York and Essex, Andrew Phillips’ early commissions came from Thames TV and the BBC. Over the last 15 years he has written scores for all the major broadcasters in the UK, HBO & HSNBC in the USA, and Film Australia, developing a compositional voice combining the worlds of classical music and electronica.
Nominated for an Emmy in 2012 for his score for The Battle for Marjah (Wall to Wall / HBO), Andrew has worked on a wide range of International Award winning feature documentaries and dramas.
Since 2009 years he has also written, produced and performed 3 critically acclaimed albums as Grasscut.
Commissions in 2015 also include Elsewhere a short feature for BFI / Creative England, and Three Days In Paris (Films Of Record / Channel 4) a film about the Charlie Hebdo shootings.

As a rapprochement between the unnecessarily divided worlds of electronica and 'proper' music it is a complete success. Absolutely lovely The Arts Desk
